Find 9 Test 9 खोजो परीक्षण
The Find 9 Test is kind 4c of the Power of Observation Test, Test 4 of the RRB ALP CBAT. Its hall pattern is 75 questions, 4 minutes, one Time Left clock. Each question is a row of four groups of digits, A to D. You name the group that holds a 9. When a 9 sits in two or more groups, the answer is E. There is no sum to do; the eye hunts one digit. It tests one thing: can your eye find a known shape among lookalikes while the clock runs.
On screen the rows come 25 to a part. Each row shows four groups and then five options, A to E. You sweep the groups once, click a letter and drop to the next row; Save & Next opens the next part. This page gives the screen flow, the RDSO guideline's example rows and a method built on the shape of a 9. The costly mistakes and a 7-day plan follow. Sit its practice papers on this portal with the hall's clock, and take the free Full Mock after login.
The hall's own count and clock, as the RDSO guideline (ALPs Guidelines CBT, Jan 2020) gives them. Five options, A to E; click the group's letter, or E when more than one group holds a 9.

How the test runs on screenस्क्रीन पर कैसे चलता है
- 1
Instruction screen
Instructions come in Hindi and English with five practice rows answered B, C, A, D and E. The portal allows 5 minutes here; press Skip Instruction once the E rule is clear.
- 2
Rows of digit groups
A row is four digit groups, A to D, with the options A to E beside them. The 4-minute Time Left clock covers the whole test, every part included.
- 3
Sweep, then click
Sweep A, B, C and D once. Click the letter of the group with the 9, or E when more than one has one. Then drop to the next row.
- 4
Save & Next
The 75 rows come as three parts of 25. When a part is done, Save & Next brings the next; the clock does not pause for the change.
- 5
Submit and T-Score
Submit closes the test after part three, or Time Left does it at zero. Your T-Score comes up on the portal with every row marked right or wrong and its correct letter.

- 5. A 89537 B 38567 C 58974 D 28378
The guideline's answers for its five rows are B, C, A, D and E. Row 1 shown here has its 9 in B and row 2 in C. Row 5 has a 9 in both A and C, so its answer is E.
The method: how to attempt a questionतरीका
- 1
Fix the shape of 9 before the row
A 9 is one closed loop at the top with a tail hanging down on the right. Hold that picture only. Do not read the groups as numbers; hunt a loop-on-top the way the eye finds a known face in a crowd.
- 2
Sweep A to D in one pass
Run the eye along A, B, C and D, to the last digit of each. The groups are short, four or five digits, so a row fits one sweep.
- 3
Count the hits
At the first 9, say its letter under your breath and keep going. A second 9 in another group makes it E. Decide only after D: one hit, that letter; two or more, E.
- 4
Click once and move on
Click the letter, drop to the next row and do not look back. 75 rows in 4 minutes is just over 3 seconds a row. Hold that pace and the third part comes before zero.
7 tips that raise the scoreसुझाव
1.A 6 is a 9 turned over
The 6 is the digit most often taken for a 9; it is the same shape upside down. Where the loop sits decides. Loop on top, tail below: 9. Loop at the bottom, stroke rising above: 6.
2.Watch the 4 and the 8 as well
A closed 4 has a pointed loop on top with a stem below, close to a 9 in small print. An 8 has two loops; the lower one fades at speed. In the example rows, every group without a 9 holds a 4, a 6 or an 8.
3.The first 9 settles nothing
Row 5 of the guideline holds a 9 in A and another in C; its answer is E. A click on A after the first hit loses the row. Finish the sweep through D every time.
4.The 9 hides inside the group
In the example rows the 9 is never the first digit of its group; it sits second or third. An eye that reads only leading digits misses it. Run to the last digit of every group.
5.Switch cleanly from Find 6
Find 6 and Find 9 share one format, and either may come as Test 4. After a Find 6 paper the eye keeps hunting loops at the bottom. On the instruction screen say it to yourself: nine, loop on top.
6.Practise on the hall's screen
In the hall you sit at a desktop and click with a mouse. The portal also opens on a phone, but a thumb on a small screen builds the wrong habit. Sit every Find 9 paper, and the Full Mock, on a laptop or desktop.
7.Practise on a laptop or desktop
The portal works on a phone too, but the exam hall is a desktop screen with a mouse. Sit every practice paper and Full Mock on a laptop or desktop, so the screen, the mouse and the pace are the ones you will meet on the day.
Mistakes that cost marksगलतियाँ
- Treating the first 9 as the answer; a second 9 in a later group turns the row into E.
- Letting a 6 pass as a 9 in a fast sweep, because both are one loop and one tail.
- Stopping at the first digit of each group, so a 9 standing second or third goes unseen.
- Going back over a finished row to be sure and handing the next row to the clock.
- Spending the last seconds on one hard row while the rest of the part stays blank.
A 7-day plan for the Find 9 Test7 दिन की योजना
| Day | What to do |
|---|---|
| Day 1 | Point at every 9 in the three example rows, including both 9s in row 5. Then sit one practice paper on a laptop to meet the rows and the clock. |
| Day 2 | Go through yesterday's review row by row. Write three tallies: 9 not seen, 6 or 4 taken for a 9, E clicked too early. |
| Day 3 | Slow paper: sweep each group to its last digit and say the letter only after D. Pace is not the point today. |
| Day 4 | Sit one Find 6 paper, then one Find 9 paper, back to back. Feel how long the eye takes to switch from loop-below to loop-on-top. |
| Day 5 | Free Full Mock day, on a laptop, five tests in the order of the railway's mock. Whichever kind Power of Observation brings, keep the sweep you practised. |
| Day 6 | Compare the Test 4 T-Score on the scorecard with 42 and 60. Spend a second attempt on the Find 9 paper that scored lowest; the higher T-Score stands. |
| Day 7 | A single Find 9 paper at the hall's pace, then no more screens today. Pass bar 42, target 60. |
Questions students askसवाल-जवाब
▸How many questions does the Find 9 Test have, and how much time is given?
The RDSO guideline gives 75 questions in 4 minutes. On screen they come in three parts of 25 rows on one Time Left clock. That is just over 3 seconds a row.
▸When is the answer E in the Find 9 Test?
Two or more of the four groups hold a 9. Then no single letter fits and the row is E, so the sweep must reach D before you click.
▸Is the Find 9 Test the same as the Find 6 Test?
Yes in form: four digit groups, 75 rows, 4 minutes, E for more than one. No in habit: the eye must switch from hunting a loop below to a loop on top. Give both kinds papers, since either can come.
▸Did the last RRB ALP exam give the Find 9 Test?
The institute's records say Test 4 came as the Figure Placement Test (4d) in the last exam (CEN 01/2024). Find 9 did not come, but nothing fixes the next kind; keep it in your rotation. For CEN 01/2025 the railway's mock link gives the Figure Placement Test again.
▸What if no group has a 9 in the Find 9 Test?
The options run A to E and have no none. Each of the RDSO guideline's practice rows holds at least one 9. A clean sweep with no 9 means one got past you; go over the row once more.
▸Is there negative marking in the RRB ALP psycho test?
No. The CBAT has no negative marking. Attempt every question; an unanswered question is a mark lost for certain.
▸What T-Score do I need to pass?
A T-Score of at least 42 in each of the five tests of the CBAT. The portal shows your T-Score on every paper the moment you submit, measured against everyone who sat it.
▸Can I practise on my phone?
Yes, the portal runs on a phone. But the CBAT is taken on a desktop with a mouse, so Kautilya Classes advises every student to sit the practice papers and Full Mocks on a laptop or desktop: the same screen, the same mouse, the same pace as the hall.
▸How do I practise this test on the portal?
Every account gets one free Full Mock after login: all five tests in one sitting with the hall's timing and a scorecard with your T-Score in each test. Practice papers of every kind, with the hall's count and clock, come with a Kautilya Classes package. New students message the team on WhatsApp; Kautilya Classes students get their login from the institute.
